Featured Images: Edit & Undo
Replace a group of featured images, preview every change, and keep a careful way back.
What it helps you do
Updating seasonal artwork or adding a main image to older posts can mean opening dozens of editors. Select the relevant posts once, review their original and proposed images, then apply a small batch.

Install and get started
Install it from Plugins → Add Plugin in your dashboard, or download the ZIP from its WordPress.org page. Back up and test on staging first. Activate the plugin, then open its page under AI Plugin Factory. WordPress 6.6+ and PHP 8.1+ are required.
1. Find the right content
Open AI Plugin Factory → Featured Images. Search posts and pages, choose No image assigned if useful, and narrow by category or content date. Categories apply to posts. Dates include the full day in your WordPress timezone.
2. Select and preview
Choose up to 50 items on the current page. Select an existing Media Library image, or remove the featured-image assignment. Preview changes shows the original and proposed result. Nothing changes until you apply.
3. Apply deliberately
Check the preview and choose Apply this batch within 30 minutes. Read the result for every item. Changed posts, missing images and active editor locks can be skipped.
4. Undo when needed
Open the batch in history and choose Undo unchanged assignments. Eligible originals are restored; later edits are preserved. Recovery applies only to batches made with this plugin. Export a record if you need a manual reference.
Fit and limitations
Normal posts and pages only, administrators only, 50 explicitly selected items per batch. Repeated batches and undo are unrestricted. It changes image assignments, not media files or images inside articles. Standard MySQL/MariaDB with InnoDB is required. Multisite, SQLite and custom database routing are unsupported.
Your data and recovery
Keep the plugin active while you may need undo. Reactivation starts a new tracking period, so older records become export-only. Deactivation keeps history; uninstall deletes the plugin’s history and tracking tables. Export anything you need first. Direct database edits that bypass WordPress hooks cannot always be detected.
Who it is for
Built for site owners and freelancers who want recoverable bulk image changes without a larger publishing suite. Whether it earns its price depends on how often you do this work.
Updates and support
The plugin works locally without registration or usage reporting. Updates are delivered through WordPress.org and shown in your WordPress dashboard. If you installed an earlier test build, deactivate it without deleting it before activating this edition; its history stays available for export. For help, use the plugin's WordPress.org support forum or email [email protected] with the plugin, WordPress and PHP versions and a short description. Never send passwords or private content.
Free edition. Available on WordPress.org.
Listed on WordPress.org as Evosolve Featured Images: Edit & Undo, by AI Plugin Factory, after passing the directory's human review in October 2026. It is free to use without registration, an activation key or a trial expiry. Future paid upgrades will be offered separately.
